Google Maps Indoors arrives on desktop
During the last hours of big G has announced the availability of Google Maps Indoors, the system maps the interior, even for computers, both fixed and portable, so from now on the plans of many public buildings, such as shopping commercial and airports, can be consulted directly from your desktop as well as Android devices.
So, after a few months of break-in, maps internal big G are no longer the prerogative of the app Google Maps for Android devices: the mapping of over 10 000 buildings in the world is now at your desktop.
The indoor maps can be exploited, for example, to decide where to go shopping to find the route to take to the airport for the departure gate or to locate an ATM, to locate service centers and much more.
The maps are available at the moment inside only for a limited number of countries, such as Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Japan, United States, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland, but it is growing quickly, thanks to the collaboration of users and thanks that tool Google Maps Floor Plan, additional countries and its buildings will be added to the list.
Also during the last days of the original indoor maps have also been expanded with plans of museums and stations as well as further points of interest in new countries.
Interesting news also on the front which now incorporates Google Maps shades of color to distinguish the type of terrain you're exploring so you can easily locate forests, deserts and mountain ranges around the world, an update that which complements the possibility recently offering access to Street View directly from the browser version of the map service.
